The most common production process of zirconia beads
There are three common methods for the production of zirconium beads, including compression molding, rolling into balls, and titration methods.
The first is press forming, that is, powder dry pressing forming, which is easy to operate and suitable for the production of large balls, but the high or small pressure will cause the sphericity of zirconium beads to be not high. Zirconium beads with relatively large particle size can only be pressed into shape, mainly including dry pressing and isostatic pressing. Dry pressing molding has the characteristics of convenient and concise operation method, less technology and capital investment, and the blank of isostatic pressing molding has high strength, high density and uniformity, and can prepare high-performance and high-quality grinding media balls.
The second is to roll into the ball, but also the domestic mass production of zirconium beads, the preparation cost is low, the production speed is fast, although the ball strength is not as strong as cold isostatic pressing, but the preparation cost is low, can be produced according to the requirements of 0.1mm-60mm range of various sizes of balls.
The third is the method of titration, titration is equivalent to the syringe extrusion of water droplets, in the production, the tension of the surface of the zirconium beads suspended in the dielectric so that the zirconium beads become spherical, with low wear, high toughness, high strength, high density. Such properties are suitable for the dispersion and grinding of multilayer ceramic capacitors, electrode materials, paints, and other high-performance materials.
